The Apple Hill^® Growers Association, located in Camino, CA, was once a fledgling association comprised of 16 original ranches. Today it boasts more than 50 ranches including Christmas tree growers, wineries, a micro-brewery, Spa and vineyards. (Apple Hill Growers Office: 530-644-7692).

Come to the Apple Hill^® ranches and find a day filled with old-fashioned fun. Plan a picnic on the lush land that surrounds these exciting ranches. Their doors are open and the growers have gone the extra mile to ensure your family a day that they will remember.

Norma Brubaker Scholarship Winners Announced!

The Apple Hill Growers Association established the Norma Brubaker Scholarships almost 20 years ago to honor a close friend and employee of the organization. When she passed away in 1984, Apple Hill decided to remember her by awarding annual scholarships in her name.

The Growers also thank the Brubaker family for generously contributing to our scholarships. Because of this collaboration, we are able to award two $1,500 scholarships each year. The 2007 winners are both attending college with this support.

John J. Conner: While at El Dorado High School, John was active in soccer, track and band. He was a member of the California State Scholarship Federation and was nominated for Boy’s State. He volunteered with many projects to feed the needy and helped refurbish homes on the Navajo Reservation. John plans to become a physical therapist, specializing in sports medicine.

Melissa de Ryk: Melissa is also an El Dorado High School graduate and participated in 4-H with an emphasis on horses, showing them at local and regional competitions. She was active in both the school marching and symphonic bands, playing clarinet. Melissa was a member of the Academic Decathlon. Her goal is to study ranch management and equine science.

Congratulations to both students. Their futures look very bright and Apple Hill is happy we could help in their educational pursuits.
